Poem 2

My Tribute to Kevin

by Jill Whitman (Wayne's sister)

It’s not how long you live, but how you live, that matters most.

It’s not how much you get, but how much you give.

It’s not if you’ll have trials, but that you will.

It’s where you place your faith that determines how you live.

There is joy that you have reached your heavenly home

And have traded your cross for a crown.

There is sadness in facing tomorrow

Without you being around.

You lived your life in victory

Because you knew the one in command.

You trusted Him completely

As you walked across life’s shifting sands.

Your daily trials were many

More than seemed your share.

You met them all with courage

Even when life seemed so unfair.

You taught me how wonderful and precious

It is to walk with Him.

The one who brings peace in the midst of the storm

And light when our way grows dim.

The way you lived your life

Allowed God’s strength and love to abound.

And that brought many others to claim

“I was lost, but now I’m found.”

Afraid to dieno.

Ready to dieyes.

Your testimony “It is well with my soul.”

“I do not have to guess.”

I know that you are safely HOME

You are with the SON.

God is well pleased with the fight you fought

Your battle is now won.

It’s not how long you lived, but how you lived, that matters most.

It’s not how much you had, but how much you gave.

It’s not the trials, but how you faced them.

It’s where you placed your faith that made you brave.

Thank you Kevin for all you taught me by your example.

I love you,

Jill
